OPEN HOUSE Tuesday, March 18 5-7pm. Music, pizza, book fair 5-7; class visits 5:30-6:30
OLSAT Test Wednesday, March 19. Ms. Lima to proctor
Health - One lesson per day from The Great Body Shop
Math - Eureka lessons involving place value; multi-digit addition and subtraction with regrouping; multiplication and division; fractions; area, perimeter and arrays
CKLA - Fighting (and Saving) for a Cause - both Globally and Locally; the Solar System
Writing - Polishing their opinion writing about topics of personal interest (e.g., the best pet, the best video game, the best boardgame, the best holiday, the benefits of recycling aluminum cans and responses to Hey, Little Ant).
iReady/IXL - Students work on their personalized learning in MyPath. Once they top out at Grade 8, they are allowed to move from iReady to IXL to meet their LAUSD-required quota of weekly minutes
Social Studies Alive! - TBD
FOSS Science - Light and Sound
Discovery Science - App in Schoology
Social Emotional Learning (SEL) - Conversation starters during Breakfast and Daily Council
Physical Education (PE) -- Daily during the last half hour. Walking, running (with pacing), skipping, stretching, calisthenics, jump rope, cultural dances, Fitness Test practice and organized games such as kickball, basketball, flag football, soccer and pickleball with rules and etiquette.
Chess w/Jonney Machtig -- Moving from basic opening skills to ultimately competing in tournaments
Library w/Ms. Barbara -- check out a book to read during Sustained Silent Reading or to share with a friend or sibling
STEAM Studio w/Francesca and Gela -- Positive and negative space
Outdoor Education in the Garden w/Adam -- working on the Spring Harvest and preparing for the Theodore Payne Native Garden Tour
Theater w/Bryan -- TBD
